Mikumi · Zanzibar
Our 3-day / 2-night package gives you the chance to explore Mikumi National Park — the fourth-largest national park in Tanzania, set between the Uluguru Mountains and the Lumango range in the southern Morogoro region, about 300 km from Dar es Salaam. Travel from Zanzibar by ferry and the SGR train, then out onto the game-rich plains.
You are picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and taken to the ferry terminal for the transfer to Dar es Salaam. From there you travel on the SGR train to Morogoro, saving around three hours. At Morogoro station our driver meets you for a smooth drive to Mikumi.
On arrival, enjoy a hot lunch at camp. After some rest, visit a Maasai boma for about two hours, then return for dinner and an overnight stay. The following day is spent on game drives across Mikumi's open plains, where you may see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests and hippos.
After a final morning in the park, begin the return journey by road and SGR train to Dar es Salaam and onward ferry to Zanzibar, where the safari ends.
